Resettlement Worker

Central Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Resettlement Worker, to work in the Camden area. The service is a 16-bed short stay service for service users navigating multiple disadvantages, including challenges with substance use, mental and physical health and contact with the criminal justice system.

The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM or 10AM - 6PM. Temporary cover is required for approximately 3 months. The pay rate for this role is £15.95 per hour, with £1.93 holiday pay, totalling £17.88 per hour.

In this position, you will be required to:
- Hold a caseload of 16 key clients and conduct regular key working sessions resulting in person centred Support Plans
- Complete comprehensive risk and needs assessments and risk management plans
- Support clients to identify their move on needs and resettlement goals and develop client centred strategies to achieve these goals
- Work in partnership with other departments, in particular the Opportunities Team and PRS Access team, to increase client's tenancy management skills and to support with facilitation of move-on options
- Identify and build relationships with a range of housing providers to facilitate safe and stable client move-on options
- Work with clients to identify life skills activities that they would like to take part in to prepare them for independence and move through
- Support clients that are ready to move into work, education or training by assisting them to access suitable courses or placements
- Contribute to the Project's income through the minimisation of void loss and arrears
- Ensure key clients being resettled with arrears have agreed and signed a repayment agreement that are appropriate and affordable
- Monitor rent accounts and address arrears with clients to avoid the need for arrears repayment agreements
- Minimise risks to clients, staff and others by identifying, reporting and following up any safeguarding concerns

To apply for this role candidates must have;
- Experience of working with complex needs, substance misuse and mental health
- Understanding of the Recovery Model and the ability to engage and motivate people to move towards independence and inclusion
- Understanding of the private rented sector market and ability to broker safe and affordable move-on options
- Ability to create and deliver SMART Resettlement action plans with clients through high quality risk and needs assessments.
- Understanding of the housing pathway to ensure effective and suitable move on options are offered to clients
- Understanding of safeguarding issues and the ability to undertake comprehensive risk assessments related to this
- Knowledge of Housing Management as applied to a residential setting, and/or client's move on accommodation
- Level of numeracy sufficient to carry out tasks such as budgeting with clients, calculating benefit entitlements and monitoring rent payments
