Support Worker
Complex Needs | 1 GU1 |£13.62 per hour (incl. of Holiday Pay) | 1-2 months | Job Ref: BD9433 | Posted: 28/05/2026

Central Recruitment is currently recruiting for three Support Workers, to work in the Guildford area. The service provides support to with individuals with complex needs.

The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday - Sunday on a rota basis covering early (7:15AM - 4:15PM), late (12:15PM - 8:15PM) and long (8AM - 8PM) shifts. You will work long shifts on the weekend. Temporary cover is required for approximately 2 months, with the possibility of extension. The pay rate is £13.62 per hour.

In this position, you will be required to:
- Organise and carry out regular planned reviews of support and risk plans
- Develop and co-produce support plans and My Safety Plans with residents
- Support residents with daily living skills (cooking, cleaning, budgeting, personal care)
- Manage crisis situations, relapse and behavioural challenges using de-escalation techniques
- Coordinate support with external agencies including mental health services, Probation, Substance misuse services and Adult Social Care
- Attend and contribute to multi-agency and safeguarding meetings
- Advocate for residents and support them to attend external appointments
- Support move-on pathways into sustainable accommodation
- Support residents to maintain tenancies and understand occupancy agreements, manage rent, service charges and arrears and access housing benefit and Universal Credit
- Complete referrals, assessments and admissions documentation
- Lead on support initiatives including Group Work
- Identify and promote opportunities for employment, education and training and support customers to remove barriers to accessing these opportunities
- Carry out health and safety checks, including room inspections and basic safety checks
- Report repairs, voids and maintenance issues promptly

To apply for this role, you must have:
- Experience supporting individuals with complex and multiple needs
- An understanding of the barriers faced by vulnerable and diverse customer groups and individuals with complex needs.
- Strong background in Safeguarding and risk management, multi-agency working, Housing-related support and tenancy sustainment
- Experience of delivering structured support and risk management.
- Knowledge of Psychological or Trauma Informed approaches to support
- Experience handling crisis situations and challenging behaviour
- Demonstrate initiative and confidence to make and act on decisions.
- Experience of working in challenging environments with the ability to plan, prioritise, organise tasks to achieve results.
- Understanding of benefits systems and housing pathways
- Ability to maintain accurate records and manage casework effectively
- Competent administrative and IT skills (to be able to produce reports and other communications).
