Central Recruitment is currently recruiting for two Expert Violence & Exploitation Caseworkers, to work Remote/Pan London. The service supports children and young people who've been exposed to or are at risk of exploitation or violence to secure safety and positive outcomes.
The successful candidate will be required to work 32 hours (4 days) per week, working between Monday - Friday, 9AM - 6PM. Temporary cover is required for approximately 6 months. The pay rate is £20.16 per hour, with £3.24 holiday pay, totalling £23.40 per hour.
Please note; this role is a hybrid role which requires you to work remotely and travel across London, meeting young people in the community or where they're based. An induction will be held at the Head Office and a laptop and phone provided.
In this position, you will be required to: - Build safe and trusting relationships with young people in high-risk contexts and who have complex needs children ensuring their voice is captured and represented appropriately - Deliver effective and appropriate interventions for young people affected by violence and exploitation and who may have involvement with the criminal justice system - Carry out robust risk assessments and strengths-based needs assessments, as well as managing complex safeguarding as priority, to ensure the most appropriate intervention is offered and risks are managed safely and escalated appropriately. - Ensure that young people receive the support they need in order to meet their individually assessed needs and understand the criminal justice processes. - Work effectively with partner agencies to reduce risk, secure support services and form robust support and safeguarding plans - Work confidently and collaboratively with statutory partners, communities, and other key stakeholders to deliver the service effectively - Provide advocacy for young people ensuring their unmet needs, safety, rights and well-being is central to decision making - Accurately maintain essential records, ensuring high-quality case recording which demonstrate - Contribute to training, development or participation in relation to the role. - Act in accordance with safeguarding legislation and guidance
To apply for this role, you must have: - Experience of working with young people affected by serious youth violence and/or exploitation, with complex support needs - Experience of working within and navigating the criminal justice system, processes and procedures - Extensive experience of managing complex safeguarding issues with children, young people, families and adults at risk, including being able to demonstrate effective partnership working and advocacy - Extensive knowledge of the impact of context on children, young people and adults, with a clear understanding of the principles of contextual safeguarding - Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and of how trauma, including from their own lives, can impact on how practitioners manage cases - Demonstrable knowledge of best practice around working with children, young people and/or vulnerable adults affected by violence and exploitation - Relevant qualification in social work, care, heath, youth justice, or youth/community work for example - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to communicate and influence a wide range of internal and external colleagues on matters relating to the service and contribute to reports - Desirable: Experience leading on and contributing towards training and service development and processes
